Or those other times when I did not rise and you left me at rest
Sifting through dreams, gathering up my morning's breath

For the night before, we had introduced many words in new ways
Gathering up thoughts that had been around for decades
From where did they come unto our tongues as we spit them out
Unto the dry ground, reverberating sound, trying hard to figure out

Wherewithal words leaking through pores, cascading down
Uncertainty certainly known, crippled with self-doubt
Yelling at the poignancy of our midnight's verse
Emblems of thought gracefully caught, glad to be captured

So that someday they might be found thrusted far out from our minds
As seeds in the ground, hoping to be found by moisture and sunlight
